PHANTOM

On arrival in the Falkland Islands the incoming Tristar is usually met by the resident fighter squadron. In the inset in this photograph, the navigator can be seen holding up his welcome sign. (Hello)

These photographs were taken from a Britannia Airline flight. Britannia flew the airbridge during the 1991 Gulf conflict. The pilot must have wondered where this Phantom was, as he came right under the starboard wing which is seen here in the bottom right side of the picture. The fighters name was clearly visible and was "Charity".
