Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II on her first and only visit to the Falklands in 1992. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Falklands liberation after being invaded by Argentina. The QE 2 carried troops to South Georgia during the conflict.

Oil Mariner with the QE 2. On arrival in Falklands waters the QE 2 was escorted in by a Hercules aircraft and two fighters. Later on in the afternoon a flying display was put on by the RAF with fighter and cargo aircraft flypasts and an air to air refuelling display.
